An Analysis of Amazon E-commerce Business Research Paper
An Analysis of Amazon E-commerce Business - Research Paper Example In the past few years, the field of information technology has experienced an incredible speed of growth. Additionally, these advancements and developments in information technology have brought a lot of changes in the ways people understand, think and carry out tasks in the 21st century. No doubt, information technology has a serious influence over almost all the parts of our life for the reason that it plays a significant role in every walk of life. On the other hand, this amazing growth of information and communication technology has made it necessary for the businesses to make efficient and useful use of innovative tools and technologies with the purpose of surviving in this ever-increasing competitive world. However, the implementations of this modern technology cannot bring perfection in the organizational performance if they are not efficiently planned and implemented (Ellahi and Manarvi). Additionally, the ways individuals and business organizations carry out their everyday activities and survive in the twenty-first century are determined by means of the massive network of countless networks (comprising all the kinds of networks such as LANs, MANs, WANs etc.) that is normally known as the Internet. In addition, without limitations and restrictions throughout the world presence of the Internet for carrying out personal as well as business related tasks such as business deals between consumers and organizations is the basic reason behind the creation of a most attractive trend that is known as the electronic commerce (or simply e-commerce). In this scenario, define electronic commerce as an innovative process of buying and selling services and goods and products. (i.e. performing all the kinds of dealings) electronically by making use of electronic or computer based systems over the Internet, networks, and other digital technologiesâ⬠. Though, e-commerce is not lim ited to just some of the business dealings but it also involves a lot of other activities that relate to those business transactions including business advertising, marketing, processing payment and offering customer support. In fact, by replacing formal and traditional manual and paper-based methods of business management with electronic methods, as well as through superior information flows in most modern and dynamic ways, electronic commerce does not just provide the businesses and customers with a potential to increase speed of the business processes such as ordering, payment for products, delivery, services and goods but also diminishes the working and supply and delivery related expenses of the businesses (Laudon and Laudon 25). In order to support the e-commerce related activities the Internet offers a wonderful technology known as the World Wide Web (WWW) that is a widespread place for carrying out e-commerce activities, building and implementing most recent tools and techno logies for the businesses to stay in touch with each other and their partners and customers (Norton 371). This report is based on a detailed analysis of a large e-commerce business. For this purpose I have chosen e-commerce business platform ââ¬ËAmazonââ¬â¢. In this report, I will discuss an overview of this retail business platform with respect to various other features such as how this e-commerce solution creates competitive advantage for the firm, investigation of how the business unit approached e-commerce solution, e-commerce solutions strategy and what were desired and actual outcomes. In the last, I will also present a set of recommendations. Before we present an overview the Amazonââ¬â¢s e-commerce business, we should be well familiar with the concepts that are associated with e-commerce. The discussion of these concepts will help us better understand

Ethical manner Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Ethical manner - Research Paper Example s of administration, which focus on individual employees and understanding of their behaviours before employment of strategies that are specific to such behaviours and thus effective in enhancing sustainable organizational development. One of the unethical issues that exist yet avoidable in the article is carelessness in the presentation of the work. The authors show negligence and make careless errors especially in terms of grammatical arrangements and issues of punctuation. On the other hand, subjectivity is an avoidable unethical issue in the research. As such, it is important for the researchers to be objective by avoiding any form of bias in the design of the study, data analysis, interpretation of data, and personal decisions (Resnik, 2011). It is also important to disclose any financial or personal interests to avoid negative influences of such aspects on the research process or findings. One of the parties that are likely to face injury in the study is the employees within the hotels. As such, since the study reviews the behaviour of these employees and their effect on organizational success, in response to the management, the exposure of identities of some of the employees that are believed to be negatively responding to management in their performance may risk dismissal from their jobs. On the other hand, some of the managers that may be marked as using poor management skills by the study may ruin their reputation especially before the organizationsââ¬â¢ governing bodies and thus affect their relationships with top most management and even the employees. Carelessness in the presentation of data could lead to poor interpretation of the data and thus alter the initial intention of the study (Resnik, 2011). This could lead to initiation of interventions in the wrong variables. In addition, careless presentation of data could lead to questioning of the credibility of the paper, an aspect that would lead to neglecting of the content of the study by all

Asbestos at the Regional Airport in Virginia Case Study
Asbestos at the Regional Airport in Virginia - Case Study Example Asbestos fibers do not have any detectable odor or taste. They do not dissolve in water or evaporate and are resistant to heat, fire, chemical and biological degradation. Because of these properties, asbestos has been used in a wide range of manufactured products, mostly in building materials, friction products, and heat-resistant fabrics. Asbestos has been used in building-construction materials, cement, textiles, missile and jet parts, asphalt and caulking compounds and paints, and in friction products such as brake linings. These materials are needed for the construction for the new Virginia airport. According to (Timbrell, 2000) "Exposure to asbestos fibers and dust, however, can cause asbestosis, a disease of the lungs caused by the inhalation of asbestos particles, and, after a latent period of up to 30 years and more, various cancers, especially lung cancer and mesothelioma, which is an inoperable cancer of the chest and abdominal lining" Since some materials are not as hazardous like asbestos its better to discontinue patronizing all the products that contain high in asbestos materials for constructing the airport.
OSHA Legal Aspects of Safety and Health Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words - 1
OSHA Legal Aspects of Safety and Health - Essay Example OSHA is also allowed to issue multiple penalties incase the consideration is on per instance basis (Ehlke, 2005). In this case, the standard violated needs to have clearly stipulated that compliance is per individual employee. In this instance, record keeping and lead protection standards stipulate that all recordable injuries should be entered on the log and an employee should be removed from work after being exposed. Also in case an employer has persistent high rates of injuries and/or fatalities, long history of violations, intentional ignorance to standards and lastly, bad faith multiple citations can be issued (Ehlke, 2005). These are good examples where multiple violations can be cited by OSHA under the egregious violations policy. It is important to note here that OSHA has the discretion to group violations and use this as a basis to propose penalties with multiple violations attracting single or multiplied penalties. Contemporary nursing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Contemporary nursing - Essay Example (Hermann, 2004) It is due to this reason that Australian nursing is confronting to challenges like lack of public reliance on hospitals, nurses', negligence towards patients etc. Other challenges include lack of community contact, some ethical issues which later escort towards loss of interest and defaming the profession. (Mant, 2002) Job dissatisfaction is also one of the reasons which escort experienced nurses to leave this field. (Goodwin, 2002) Under such circumstances where nurses are open to hear critics either in professionalism or ethical values, could one think that political apathy alone is to be held responsible for creating this situation In my opinion, the situation is all about what nurses understand and perceives the ethical and moral code of conduct. Therefore, it is not to blame the political apathy of professional values but the morals which a nurse has to follow throughout her nursing career. By nursing ethics, it is meant the morals and duties of nursing which she must succumb to in professional patient care. Often nurses see 'morality' as involving more a personal or private set of values, in contrast with 'ethics', which is seen as involving a more formalised, public and universal set of values. The incorrect use of fundamental ethical terms and concepts has led to a certain degree of confusion in nursing ethics discourse. Therefore the responsibility of this confusion does not lie with political apathy, but with a nurse who understands and perceives in her own manner. In this situation where 'political involvement' and 'ethics' has, been misunderstood in today's nursing profession, one must think behind the hidden facts responsible for creating the chaos. Blaming the laws, nursing code of conduct or nursing schools is not the solution to the problem. Lack of sharing and understanding a common nursing ethical language has become the ground root for taking a correct or incorrect course of action on which the reputation of nursing is built. Here by correct or incorrect I mean the course of action that is morally correct for the patient. For example if two nurses are unable to share a common perception about nursing practice, they cannot meaningfully debate about moral permissibility due to conflicting views and these views could later result into the differences clearly seen while handling a patient. Therefore, the onus comes on the shoulders of those nurses who are dedicated to enter in this profession to research about the conflicting views. The Moral Problems of today's Nurse Nursing practise revolves around basic care and common sense and today's nursing care is the moral care of the patient without these two features. (Traynor, 1999, p. 69) Moral care involves dedication and emotional bonding and respect for the patient. Though the nurses who are new to the profession are dedicated enough to handle the patient and understand morality, but that dedication is devoid of basic 'care' and 'common sense'. However older ones that stick to this profession for years explicitly identify their work and values as 'traditional' but still they never realise what is ahead of them that requires true morality what it takes to become today's nurse who is willing to accept

Composition 3 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Composition 3 - Essay Example The first of the reason that explains why the mood of the boss impacts the employees negatively is that the foul mood of the boss leads to creation of fear and anxiety to the employees (King, 2008). When the boss is in a foul mood and keeps on shouting to the employees and intimidating them in the workplace, employees become fearful of communicating with the boss and even explaining anything to him. This fear leads to anxiety which grows as the foul mood and the negative mood turns contagious to the employees. When the anxiety level of all employees is high, they fail to pay attention to their work. They keep on thinking of what the boss will think or say and hence end up with shady job which negatively affects the performance of the company in general. The mood of the boss according to (Goleman, Boyatzis and McKee, 2002) also affects the employees by creating stress and lack of job satisfaction. As mentioned earlier, fear by the employees leads to anxiety. If the bad mood by the boss continues or even elevates due to the reduction in productivity, it causes harsh comments from the boss who are demeaning and even leading to some employees crying. This eventually leads to creation of stress among the employees. When an individual is living in a stressing environment, the stress increases leading to more medical bills accumulating all of which are added expenses to the company. The stress will also cause the employees to miss work or reduce their performance in the workplace. The other reason that increases the stress levels of the employees is the lack of empathy by the boss who has bad mood. The boss only cares about himself and when it comes to personal issues of the employees, he withdraws, does not show any empathy at all. In order for employees to work well with their boss and even increase their work performance from the good environment of the workplace, the

Why do want to be a teacher what experiences have led you to wantto Essay
Why do want to be a teacher what experiences have led you to wantto teach in a high-need school in New York City - Essay Example During my work as a social worker/therapist, I have encountered many troubled adults. Some adults I have encountered experience mental issues, economic deprivation, or little education. Somewhere along the way, the system failed these individuals. If one of their teachers had attempted to identify their problems, instead of just passing them on, maybe these individuals would have different lives. I want to be able to help troubled children from the beginning, instead of having to deal with adults when it is too late. I know that I am only human. The only effort I can make is my best one. However, I feel that if I impact one, just one child, then the decision to become a teacher would be vindicated. I want to be a positive influence shaping the future, instead of picking up the pieces of the past today. Instead of solving yesterdayââ¬â¢s problems, I want to create tomorrowââ¬â¢s solution. My experience of being a social worker has equipped me with the educational, emotional, and intuition necessary to teach in a high need school in New York City. I have dealt with issues relevant to high need students. I have provided therapeutic intervention services to children, adolescents, and adults using individual, family, and group therapy. I have assisted and formed group counseling for children and teens in the areas of self esteem, peer managing, and anger management. These experiences have made me prepared to work in a high need school. Another reason for wanting to teach in a high need school in New York City is my own personality. I have always be a fighter for the underdog. Minorities, women, the wrongly accused, and other individuals down on their luck have always made me want to fight for their rights. I have always wanted to even the odds for the underprivileged. Many politicians and others spout the rhetoric every American student should receive the same
